Durban Court
A feather in the cap for Atmore Painters. Durban Court in Mowbray, Southern Suburbs of Cape Town required extensive remedial and preparation work before painting could commence. Several spalling repairs were carried out under the concrete walkways. Our team are trained and certified to use Sika’s range of concrete repair mortars to ensure quality workmanship that lasts. Included in the scope of work was the resealing of all aluminium windows, maintenance work to the roof and repainting the walkways. The building received a full coat of Plascon Professional Plaster Primer and two top coats of Plascon Professional Low Sheen. The project was completed in just three weeks!
Willowdene
Atmore Painters was awarded the contract for remedial and painting work at Willowdene in Kenilworth, Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. Due to the scale of the work, the body corporate appointed NB Projects as project managers. Scaffolding was erected in phases around the building and inner courtyard areas. This allowed ease of access for our team, and management the ability to check and sign-off on all work completed. Our remedial repair team were kept busy with various sized spalling repairs. Sika’s range of Monotop repair mortars were used for the job. To ensure a long lasting finish, all surfaces were primed with one full coat of Plascon Professional Plaster Primer followed by two coats of Plascon Professional Low Sheen. The residents of Willowdene were highly satisfied with the end result.
Woodlands Park Block B
We at Atmore Painters pride ourselves on establishing long lasting client relationships. Having successfully re-painted Woodlands Park Block A in Rondebosch, Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, we were invited back to paint the weathered North facing elevation of Block B. The existing paint work was in poor condition with various sized cracks and delaminating paint. Due to the extensive preparation requirements and height-safety-consideration for this project we used heavy duty scaffolding which was erected by independent qualified contractor. The building was high-pressure-washed and certain areas were stripped back to bare plaster. All cracks were chopped open and repaired accordingly to minimize the recurrence caused by future movement. Due to the extensive hairline cracking in the plaster, we specified and applied Sika Sikalastic 560 before top-coating. After application of a full prime coat with Plascon Professional Plaster Primer we applied two top coats of Plascon Professional Low Sheen standard white.
Woodlands Park Block A, Rondebosch
We were very pleased to have been awarded the contract to redecorate Woodlands Park at the beginning of 2020. This Art Deco inspired building required a full wash down of all surfaces with a high-pressure washer, followed by repairing all cracks and defects. The North and West facing elevations had heavy chalking present and were primed with one full coat of Plascon Primer before top coated the entire building with two full coats of Plascon Professional Low Sheen.
Derby Road, Kenilworth
I really enjoyed the challenge this project presented itself. This triple story Victorian house was built in the early 19th century. Working at height and the need for meticulous preparation required scaffolding to be erected on the South and North side of the building. We used Plascon Velvaglo for the timberwork and Plascon Micatex for the exterior walls.
Pillans Road, Rosebank
This project was broken into two phases. Phase 1 focused on the front section of the house. The majority of the houses in Rosebank are old, with decorative gables and delicate "broekie lace" draped around the porches. The client understood the value of proper preparation which allowed us to take care of all of the surfaces before painting.
Brent Road, Plumstead
Over the last year we’ve noticed a trend in homeowners wanting to paint their timber windows and doors white. All the timberwork had to be sanded down and rusted panel pins sunk and filled before undercoating with Universal Undercoat. We top coated the timber with Plascon Velvaglo Waterbase.
Exterior Redecoration
